Attention, everyone~
Jul. 16th, 2010 12:44 pmI was thinking of digging around for a meme that will let me ask intrusive questions without seeming like a nosy creeper (:D), and I came across this one that
lemniciate (not that I'm calling
lemniciate a nosy creeper or anything...! She just has good taste in memes...? :D;;) just posted:
I know very little about some of the people on my friends list. Some people I know relatively well. But here's a thought: why not take this opportunity to tell me a little something about yourself. Any old thing at all. Just so the next time I see your name I can say: "Ah, there's so and so...she likes office supplies." I'd love it if every single person who friended me would do this.
Tell me about the SPN/J2 BB that you read recently (whether you loved it or hated it)! Or ramble about your research interests (sorry, I just got back from a seminar this morning and it's kind of on the top of my mind ;;;)! Or just tell me something completely random! Especially you lovely new people and sort-of-new people and not-so-new-people-that-I-haven't-talked-to-recently! \o/
And now, if you'll all excuse me, I'm going to go find something to eat and watch some SGA. :>

Date: 2010-07-17 02:04 am (UTC)I think it's awesome when people are so enthusiastic about something that they read about it and search out more information about it, especially if it's not even for school. \o/ I know nothing about drama, but your description of Restoration drama sounds really interesting. What time period did it emerge (and does the style still exist? haha, sorry for my complete ignorance)?
Not a single BB? :O Are you saving up a huge list of BB's to read later? ;)

Date: 2010-07-17 02:16 am (UTC)Heh, don't worry about not knowing! It's not a period that people know much about unless you're studying it! The Restoration period is between 1660 and 1710 -- beginning when the monarchy was "restored" after the Puritan Revolution (Oliver Cromwell). The Puritans outlawed the theatre during their reign, so there was an exciting resurgence in drama during the Restoration!
Urgh, I don't know! I haven't been feeling the urge to read these epic fics lately. :( I have several bookmarked, though! Hopefully I'll start feeling it soon.
