1. I chipped the corner of my front tooth! On what, I have no idea! D: One second I'm licking at my front tooth (idk) and I'm thinking there's something stuck on it, and the next second I'm like, OMG PART OF MY TOOTH IS MISSING. I have nightmares about my teeth becoming loose and falling out. :(
2. My mom, trying to compliment me on my life choices or something, idk:
MOM: You're like a bomb that's still heading up in its trajectory while other people are heading down [makes hand gestures]
ME: ...did you just compare me to an Angry Bird?
MOM: XDDD
3. I thought my brain was completely fried because I just could not edit the damned paper (like, not a single thing; not even re-arrange the paragraphs), but it turns out I just reeeally don't want to work on that particular paper. I made a teeny bit head-way on a separate project and jotted down a few ideas and a few papers that I need to look up tomorrow (which, yay, every bit counts...or something). But...that still doesn't resolve the issue with the other paper. It ain't gonna edit itself and I have a meeting about it on Wednesday, ugh.
4. I refuse to leave this post on a depressing note, so, here, have a meme that's been making the rounds:
Leave me a comment with the corresponding number(s) and I'll tell you:
1 Five ways to my heart.
2 Something I feel strongly about.
3 A book I love.
4 Things I want to say to an ex.
5 Five pet peeves.
6 What I ate today.
7 How important I think education is.
8 I'll put my music player on shuffle and write the first ten songs that play.
9 Five guys whom I find attractive.
10 My opinion about my body and how comfortable I am with it.
11 What I wore today.
12 My zodiac/horoscope and if I think it fits my personality.
13 Something I always think "what if..." about.
14 Something that I'm proud of.
15 A problem I have had.
16 Five items I lust after.
17 My fears.
18 How I hope my future will be like.
19 Something that I miss.
20 Five words/phrases that make me laugh.
21 Something I'm currently worrying about.
22 Things I like and dislike about myself.
23 A quote I try to live by.
24 Somewhere I'd like to move to or visit.
25 Five weird things that I like.
26 One thing I'm excited for.
Be forewarned that my answers for some of these might be on the ridiculous side, especially if I'm coming up with the answer on the spot. ;;;

Date: 2011-09-04 04:03 am (UTC)ME TOO! D: D: They are absolutely horrible, horrible nightmares, and I usually end up a sobbing mess in them. CHIPPING YOUR FRONT TOOTH SOUNDS TERRIBLE. D: D: D: D: I'm aghast. I hope it was not painful.
3! and 20! (Bonus points if you do 20 with audio. :3 ) and 25! I mean, I would pick all of them, but I'll limit myself.

Date: 2011-09-05 02:43 am (UTC)#3: I'm a cheating cheater so I'm not going to name a single book but a whole series: the Macdonald Hall series by Gordon Korman. Yeah, they're written for kids (in fact, the author wrote the first book when he was in middle school!), but if I were stuck on a desert island, I would totally smuggle the entirety of this series on to the island with me. Idk, they're cute and fun and hilarious and I'm never going to grow out of loving them. :>:>
#20: Umm...this is a hard one! I don't think I can name five! "Gobbledygook" is a word my friend likes to use and I laugh every time she says it (it's a funny-sounding word! and I can never say it properly!). And pretty much every punchline from The Big Bang Theory makes me laugh, so I'll count that for my other four responses. ;) (I told you I was a cheating cheater!)
#25: Oh man, another five things? Haha, I suck at this. Uh, let's see:
1. I like to pick at loose skin? (this is more gross than weird, I suspect...)
2. I like peering down alley ways. Not, like, the garbage-and-creepers-and-mugging-takes-place-here!alley ways, but like the ones that lead to courtyards or, idk, other buildings. There was this one in England I saw, it was right by a "rubbish store" and it was filled with, well, rubbish. :> Like, there was the weirdest stuff, all piled up in this alley way, with little price tags stuck to them. I wished I'd taken a picture!
3. I like looking at pretty dresses and pretty shoes, but I don't really care to wear them. (does this one even count as a weird thing I like? Idk, I'm counting it)
4. I like recording podfic and according to some people, that is a weird activity to enjoy. (I AM RUNNING OUT OF IDEAS. CAN YOU TELL.)
5. I love the feeling of "drifting off", the moment before I fall asleep, when I still have some awareness of myself and my surroundings, but nothing really fully makes sense and it all gets a bit hazy. :>

Date: 2011-09-05 04:34 am (UTC)Looking into alleyways sounds quite interesting; enough artsy photos and you'd have quite a good coffee table book!
Doesn't the moment of drifting off feel sort of like going upside down? Le sigh. I like it too.
I've never read the Macdonald Hall series, but reading a series for kids that the author started when he, himself, was a kid sounds quite interesting. I absolutely adore kids books, though, so I will never grow out of loving the genre as a whole.

Date: 2011-09-04 10:42 am (UTC)Haha, your mom apparently gives the best, most weird compliments ever!
Good luck with the paper!
And 14, please :D

Date: 2011-09-05 02:48 am (UTC)#14: I'm going to totally cheat on this one and say that I'm proud of the fact that my parents are proud of me and are pleased with my life choices (even if I have my own doubts about my choices).
(also, ironically, I am answering comments to avoid editing that paper ;;;;; As a student in a humanities program, you have to write loads of papers, right? What do you do when you have severe writer's block for a paper due for a class? :x :x)

Date: 2011-09-05 02:55 am (UTC)1. Feeding me. I can cook just fine, but it's nicer when other people cook for me, haha (I'm like a stray cat XD).
2. Making me laugh.
3. Laughing with me and at my attempts at being funny :>
4. Intelligence (mmm...brainssss)
5. Having really awesome conversations about
brainsbehaviour (because I am a psych nerd at heart :D)no subject

Date: 2011-09-06 03:24 am (UTC)12: I'm a Capricorn and I have no idea what ~personality traits~ are associated with my ~star sign~. XD A quick Google seems to indicate the Capricorns are hard working and practical and determined and whatnot. Umm, I'm practical, for sure; maybe in some ways I'm hard working and determined? I get things done, but I sometimes like to cut corners and I often believe in working the minimum amount to get the maximum output. ;)
16:
1. an iPad :>
2. a shiny smart phone (which I think I will get for myself this month or next month)
3. a loft apartment (idk, they reeeally appeal to me *___*)
4. a cute (housetrained) kitty XD
5. aaand ummm, idk, a robot. I want a robot.

Date: 2011-09-06 08:07 am (UTC)AND ROBOTS ARE AWESOME, WHY SHOULDN'T YOU WANT A ROBOT? Get a robot kitten, even :D

Date: 2011-09-09 10:14 pm (UTC)Gods...dreams with your teeth falling out is AWFUL. I like have to lick my teeth to make sure they're all there whenever I wake up. WORSE FEELING EVS. If it makes you feel better...I chipped my front tooth about two summers ago when I went to Ireland. I was having a beer, and the glass rim just chipped my tooth off. Seriously? Yeah.
And well...here you go:
12 My zodiac/horoscope and if I think it fits my personality.
13 Something I always think "what if..." about.
14 Something that I'm proud of.

Date: 2011-09-10 04:44 pm (UTC)Omg, yes, this exactly D: D: D:
I answered 12 here and 14 here. 13: School is almost always on my mind, and I often wonder "what if I chose to do a Masters degree first" or "what if I chose organizational behaviour over marketing" or "what if I didn't go to grad school at all". I wouldn't change my path now, but if I were given the chance to go back in time and choose all over again, I think I may have chosen differently.
