fishpatrolEven though I was excited for SPN 5x16 all day yesterday, I totally forgot to download it until I saw the first reaction post for it on my flist. /o\ I was going to download it and save it until today, but of course, I just had to take a tiny peek. Forty-two minutes later, I was all flaily and couldn't fall asleep. *facepalm*
I normally don't do reaction posts, but this episode was definitely one of the best this season. The ones that I get excited for after watching the preview clips (because I am all about the instant gratification) are usually the ones I like the most. :> Anyway, time to gush and flail a bit:
-Oh, Dean♥ You're just a big ball of angst and issues, aren't you? D:
-There were definitely a few moments of, "Huh, I think I read that in a fanfic once" for me.
-I love Zachariah being a petty, middle management douche. But was the Zachariah/Mary really necessary? :x It was fifty kinds of skeevy. And that couldn't actually have been Mary's soul, right? It was just Zachariah's projection to mess with Dean?
-When did Sam and Dean go to Heaven prior to this? The greenroom depicted at the end of season four wasn't actually Heaven, was it?
-I'm glad the questions re: how did Sam&Dean end up on the plane and who resurrected Castiel was finally addressed. But that was kind of anti-climactic, no? I am very curious as to how God will be depicted (or whether God will show up at all).
-I have no idea how to interpret the whole soulmates thing (other than, y'know, the obvious through-the-slash-goggles way), with Ash's significant glance and Sam&Dean's awkward silence... If Sam + Dean =/= soulmates, then what was the purpose of that whole exchange re: soulmates sharing the same space in Heaven?
-The amulet adlfjasjdsak;jl. When Dean first gave it to Castiel, I wanted to see more of a reaction from Sam. I'm glad it reappeared in this episode, but seriously, Dean? Throwing it away? D: I clutched at my heart and made colon-capital-oh faces at the screen when the end credits started rolling. Also, I thought of this vid (which I totally blame for associating the amulet with ~*Sam's heart~*).
-I should have written this last night, when I actually remembered what happened (I had a bunch of things to say! Some were even somewhat intelligent! But I can't remember!). Perhaps this is a sign that I should watch it again. :D
Speaking of my failing memory, last month, I kept on getting calls from this memory research clinic about an appointment. If I'd made an appointment with a memory clinic, I would totally remember! Either way, they stopped calling, so I'm guessing that I didn't make an appointment and just forgot about it. How ironic would that be?

D: But I guess it's possible given that we didn't find out about Mary and John's not-so-perfect relationship until this episode (i.e. there are more messed up things about the Winchester family than meets the eye and all that).
I know, right? :D Every time I watch that vid, I make squeaky noises at the beginning and grin like a fool by the end. Dean needs to learn to cherish ~*Sam's heart*~, am I right or am I right?
