Got my Macbook back from repairs, but the hissing is still present. D: I haven't even had this computer for a year and already it has a replaced hard drive, logic board, and as of today, a new fan (franken-rodney! -- what's left to replace? the optical drive? memory?). The logic board replacement resolved the issue for a few months, but a few weeks ago, the sound came back. Ugh, idek. I'm really sensitive to noise, so the sound gives me a headache, but not a lot of people (including most of the tech people, it seems) can hear it because it's so high-pitched. *tears hair out*

And I just noticed that I have somehow procured a program called Growl without being aware of downloading it... odd. That would explain why I get a notification pop-up every time a download completes.

D: I can't believe you've had so much work done on this already! I've had mine for much longer and it's been okay. Though I did get the Mac equivalent of the blue screen of death once, it was terrifying! Maybe your ears are just really super and you're picking up lower/higher frequencies... /making things up /o\

(Also, have you seen the podfic recording someone did of the first few chapters of The Administration? I keep listening to it, and that always makes me want to reread. It's an endless cycle of hotness, let me tell you.)

Wow. I have never had problems with my PCs and to hear that you've had so much issue with your Macbook....

What happened to your heels...?

Ugh, I'm sorry about the Macbook! D: That's terrible, especially if it seems only you can hear it! Though I adore franken-rodney XD

Huh. Growl. Interesting.

do you have a protection plan? i'd take full advantage of that if i were you and not hesitate to take it back to have it fixed again. i mean, that's what you pay extra for.

i'm going to buy a macbook pro once they come out (loooong overdue for updates). i hope i don't have any issues for a while. my pc is bad, and this is the understatement of the year. :(

i have a dell, currently chugging on 800mbs of ram. just opening chrome overheats this thing. i need to run photoshop, illustrator, indesign, and flash, sometimes more than one at the same time. opening photoshop makes it shut itself down and i've lost my hw multiple times. guh... it really sucks. i'm sooo behind on design homework. i won't be surprised having a low gpa this semester because i have no way of doing hw. none. /rant

i do but they're an hour drive away one way, which is not practical with my paycheck and the amount of gas my car consumes. D:

Actually...I remember being asked if I wanted to install Growl either when I installed last.fm or at some point, while I was using Firefox...So yeah...

Uh...I was asked to install Growl my first week or two into using my brand new macbook pro, so...it could have been on your computer for a while. In any case, I highly doubt that it was installed without your permission...Macs are kind of strict on that, at least mine seems to be. :3
