First entry of 2009

fishpatrol1. 5 bucks says I'm going to write the year incorrectly on forms and notes for at least a month.
2. I don't get the appeal of being crammed like sardines in a can (FROZEN SARDINES. my legs are still cold! thank goodness for warm laptops.) with swarms of people jostling and shoving and smoking, and not being able to see anything remotely interesting, all the while FREEZING. The fireworks and countdown were thoroughly unspectacular. But, on the bright side, at least I've experienced this once to know that I never want to experience it again. XD
2.5 Dinner with friends was mostly nice. First time in years that I spent New Years Eve away from my computer. My antisocialness is really showing, isn't it? ;;;
3. At dinner, B asked all of us what the best and worst parts of 2008 for us were. 2008 pretty much sucked a lot of ass for me. There were some good parts, granted, but the lows were really low and there seems to be some sort of negativity constantly humming at the back of my mind. Reducing this negativity is what I need to do for 2009. It's not a New Years resolution (because I just don't do those. they are ineffective and studies have totally shown that), but just something that I need to do to cope? to recover? 2007 was unspectacular and 2008 kind of sucked -- statistically speaking (in a really loose sort of statistical way), 2009 ought to be better. Y'know, regression to the mean and all that. *hand waves vaguely*
4. Sex on the Beach (the drink :p) is really quite yummy. I couldn't taste or feel the alcohol at all -- the only indication that I'd consumed alcohol at all was a light buzz and very flushed cheeks (thanks ever so much, Asian non-enzyme-y genes).
5. I like this whole numbering system thing. Makes things nice and tidy. I'm kind of losing coherence (sleeeep), so I'll just leave it at here. Happy New Years, guys. ♥ Hope 2009 is better for everyone else, too. ;)
