There's something about the end of the winter holidays that makes me want to take up knitting. XD So I've started up again, with the help of my mom (I swear, every time she sighs and takes the knitting from me to fix it/examine the problem/double-check, I'm sure she's thinking, "Y U SO DUMB, CHILD /o\" She denies it, but I know better). I still don't know which one's a purl and which one's a knit, but whatevs, this pattern seems to be working for me. :> I have too many scarves so this is going to be a bag! Exciting!

2. Photos from NYC in the cut below (not a lot of photos this time, for two main reason: 1) it was too cold to constantly dig out my camera! & 2) my camera doesn't do well at night or indoors, so the pictures didn't turn out all that well)

3. There is no third point. Oh, wait, yes there is. New SPN tonight! I think it's about a hooker, or babysitting, or both (or maybe it's about Alec's One True Love crossovering and turning into a monster hooker, idk). I would rather it be about a ~unicorn~.

KNITTING \o/

Bring it over tomorrow when we watch SPN! I'm working on a project that uses basket weave (that's one of the names for the pattern you're using) and we our needles can go clack-clack-clack together, all merry like!

I'm probably going to stream SPN tonight, so that works out perfectly for tomorrow because I can't look away from my knitting too often or else I start losing and/or gaining stitches left and right. XD

Your knitting looks very pretty! I used to knit (mostly afghans), but I haven't done it in years. Good luck making your bag.

Thanks for posting the Christmas tree picture. I've never seen the tree in person. I'd love to go to NY at Christmas some year.

*must remember to download SPN on Saturday morning* Although, after the last episode I'm not all that excited about the show. They need to win me back. ;-)

We actually weren't sure where the tree was, at first! NYC is quite nice during the holidays, but man, is it ever crowded! I think I'd like to visit it in warmer weather, so that I could walk around more, without freezing half to death. ;D

This episode...was okay? I was knitting during the entire episode and watching a poor quality stream, so maybe I'll like it more when I give it my full attention tomorrow, during my re-watch. ;)

I've only been once, but NY looks even more ridiculously crowded during the holiday season. It makes me want to punch people. But I'm glad you had fun! <3

It is super crowded! \o\ If the crowd made the streets feel warmer, it would have been more worth it -- but as it was, it took forever for us to walk across Times Square and the big streets around it, so we had to take detours.

Wow, I had no idea Times Square was so busy! Like, I knew it was popular but there's like SO many people. How does one even walk in that? lol

You should! It's really quite relaxing, and can keep your hands busy while you listen to podfic. ;D And then, bonus: you get scarves/bags/blankets/whatever at the end of it. :>:>

One doesn't! \o\ We had to detour around the area when we wanted to go from the train station up to Rockefeller, because walking straight through Times Square takes forever!

It's not too bad once you get the hang of it? :D Now that I have a better handle on the pattern, I'm finding it quite relaxing to knit and watch SPN/listen to podfic/etc. :>

knitting! i've always wanted to take up knitting but i've never gotten around to actually doing it. PERHAPS I SHOULD. i hear it's very stress relieving :D

love the pictures--i almost went up to nyc for new year's but then ended up trying to troubleshoot things in philly instead. i wanted to see the tree & the decorations and now i'm living vicariously through you haha :)

Oh man, it was already so crowded before New Year's (we left on the 30th) -- I can't imagine how packed Midtown would be during New Year's Eve!

ooo, your knitting looks so pretty! :) I crocheted a shawl-thingy that was in almost the same colour blue for my mom for Christmas, and I realized as I was making it that I was so out of crocheting shape! My hands got all cramped. /o\

Your pictures are great. I love the ones of all the crowds in Times Square -- er, Not-a-Square. ;)

Thank you! :D I want to learn to crochet as well! I want to make one of those scarves with the pretty, loop patterns. But my mom said that I had to finish learning to knit first, before she would teach me to crochet. ;;; (It's so nice that you can make stuff for your mom! My parents are very reluctant to wear anything that I've made XDD)
