...except for when I fly across time zones. That's kind of like time traveling too. :]

Anyway, here, my favourite tree ever:

So, remember when I was all, "I'm going to go hiking! But not get lost!" -- well...at least we didn't get lost this time...

We were just going to walk around a bit, take some photos, breathe in the fresh fall air and whatnot.

But then my dad was like, "Hur hur, Imma run up the mountain."

And he did indeed run up the mountain (see blurry figure in the centre of the photo).

The hiking path was at the top of the mountain and we didn't want to double back toward the other direction, so my mom and I were like, "Okay, let's just go up the mountain and get on to the hiking trail." Problem was, there was no hiking path up this mountain, and the ground was full of slippery fallen leaves, unstable rocks, loose dirt, and crumbly logs.

My dad was all, "Maybe we should head back down 'cause I don't think you guys can make it."

And my mom and I were all, "Screw that shit, we're gonna get up there." (and also, it would've been harder to get back down, anyway)

So, up we climbed.

Near the top, the path got super steep, and without any stable footholds. My dad somehow scrambled to the top and pulled us up using long branches he found on the ground. ;;;; People passing by on the hiking trail were all like, "Uhhh, do you guys need help?" And we were all, "Ahahaha ;;;;;;;; No."

Eventually, we made it to the top:

Also, I don't know why it didn't occur to me until two weeks ago that I could just blend a bunch of boiled vegetables & potatoes/yams/etc together and then it ~magically becomes soup. I'd clearly thought about blending vegetables together when I first bought my mini-blender -- but even at that time, I was thinking about raw vegetables. I have been making soup for every other meal and pretty much blending anything/everything I have in the fridge. :>
