I was under the impression in the first episode we saw Lisa in that she emphatically DID NOT like how he was with Ben, what with the convincing him to kick bullies in the nuts, etc.
I know, right? I said almost the exact same thing in a comment I made to someone else's reaction post. I don't doubt that Dean was a great father figure to Sam, but their life was far from normal. Dean probably trained Sam to defend himself and to be extra vigilant and whatnot -- not exactly the skills Ben needs in his life. And especially combined with the nightmares and the drinking problem and trying to cope with grief? I'm not sure how great of a role model Dean would have been for Ben.
I wonder what Sam's reason was for rejecting the Impala! Was it a reaction to Dean's refusal to go back to hunting with him? Was it because using the Impala wouldn't feel right without Dean being there? Or was it because he actually likes his new car better??
