1. When I come across stretches of blank white walls, I automatically think, "I wish I had a magical purple crayon."

2. I don't like wearing bras when I don't have to (i.e. at home). I also don't like wearing high heels or skinny jeans or dresses/skirts (I like looking at dresses/skirts though).

3. I have long-ish hair, but rarely ever wear it down (because backs of necks need to breathe too).

4. I like wind chimes and train rides and soap bubbles. And fluffy clouds on a sunny day.

5. Conceptually, I love hugs. However, I am a bad hug-giver and hug-receiver. :( Hugging is a skill I lack.

6. I really want to get laser eye surgery because my vision has been poor since grade four, but I'm terrified of the idea of LASERS CUTTING THROUGH MY EYEBALLS. :|

7. I prefer listening to Japanese or Korean music over English music (and Chinese music to a lesser extent) because I usually listen to music while doing something else (reading, most often) and understanding the lyrics interferes with the other task. If I'm writing something, I prefer having instrumental soundtracks or classical music in the background.


I tag everyone who hasn't done this meme because I am a nosy person with a healthy amount of curiosity.

2) What TV shows would you guys recommend to me? I need more shows to watch while eating lunch and dinner. :D (I could spend the time reading more articles instead, but that would just be depressing)

3) I don't know if I can finish my j2_everafter entry. D: My art muse has been dead like a dead thing lately.

Watch it, it's hilarious. Also, due South is a bit fantastic.

I recently heard the long, blank stretch of our subway station (you know the space I mean, right?) called "100 Years in the Desert". Time to start installing construction paper cacti? Perhaps in purple?

I've thought about starting Due South -- no one had any episodes on DC++ and I couldn't find it on my usual streaming sites so I gave up. :(

*wanders back* I second the nomination for Community! Also Leverage (do you watch that show?). The cons they pull can be a little iffy on occasion, but the characters are adorable and the show is always fun.

Mmm, due South is tricky to track down. The only place I've been able to find it is YouTube.

Sorry, I worded that badly. It's more a cheeky, unofficial nickname for the long, beige stretch between the North/South and East/West trains at Spadina.

Oh! Yes, that stretch -- haha, now the "100 Years in the Desert" makes perfect sense. Personally, I try not to look at the walls when I'm walking through there because they're really kind of gross. XD

2. I find the slight bumpiness of train rides soothing (but not so great when I'm trying to read an article or a book ;)).

6. Lasers should only shoot out of eyes! Not into!

Yes, I do watch Chuck (and am all caught up with the latest season :)) -- I tried the first episode of The Vampire Diaries and unless the show is really quite different in the later episodes, I'm thinking maybe it's not my thing. ;) What's Burn Notice about? I've heard good things about Castle, so maybe I'll give that a shot next. :D

7. Oh good, I'm glad I'm not the only one. ;) The people who can study or write while listening to music with lyrics (which seems to be most people XD;;) boggle my mind. I've tried on several occasions and it turns out that I can't even concentrate on novels or fanfic if I can understand the lyrics of the music playing in the background.

The thing I like about Community is that the episodes are only 20 minutes long, which is perfect for my attention span. ;) Yep, I do watch Leverage -- and yes at the iffy-ness of their cons, haha. I watch mostly for the awesomeness that is Parker (and Elliot and Hardison, too). :D

Skinny jeans and skirts look good on other people! And I like them in theory...but I can't move/breathe in skinny jeans and I find skirts uncomfortable (which seems to be the opposite for most people XD).

I do watch White Collar! :D I haven't watched the newest episode yet, so I can't squee with you on that (give me a few hours ;)) -- but, randomly, don't you think that Kate really resembles Elizabeth??

btw, i always get happy when i find a gal who shares #2 in common w/ me. i thought i was the only one who just likes being free. i don't feel it when i'm out and about but when i'm inside the house and wearing one, all i can think of is taking it off. XD

Yes, this, exactly. I'm such a slob at home -- baggy shirts that with colours that clash with my sweatpants, and also, odd-looking slippers. :D

Community is such a delight. I'd never realised how wonderfully subtle an actor Chevy Chase is, even in a role as unsubtle as Pierce. (Have you seen the Halloween episode yet? Oh Ahbed. Oh Pierce.)

I just finished the Halloween episode -- I totally cracked up when Ahbed dragged Pierce and Jeff out of the chair-desk tower. Community is kind of similar to Glee with playing up the stereotypes and all, but I find it's better at poking fun at the stereotypes than Glee is.

i do the exact same thing. my little sister is the total opposite from me so i feel especially slobby when i'm dressed casually. she's always so fixed up and clean looking. haha XD

and regarding listening to music and not understanding it, once i started to learn japanese, i gradually weened myself off of j-pop and more into k and c-pop because once i began understanding the lyrics, i realized they all suck D:

Don't ever learn Chinese because the lyrics are possibly even worse. ;) I find the majority of songs to be about some variation on love (I can recognize the word "love" in Korean, so I believe my statement can safely encompass C-pop, K-pop, and English pop) and really, there's only so much one can stand listening to first love, true love, break ups, and so on. X3

I loved it when Pierce and the Dean "solved racism" with their Human Being mascot :P And Pierce as the Beastmaster makes me giggle every time. (He just wanted to be cool!)

Agreed on both counts about Glee and Community. It's interesting to see how both shows can take a similar approach but play them so differently (also, the genderfail is way, way less pronounced on Community - I loved the bathroom ettiquette plotline).

The DUETS! be still my heart, they are adorable.

Though I have to say I don't ship anyone all that strongly on the show; I just like all their adorable group dynamics! Like how they throw random characters together (Troy and Britta dancing! Or when Jeff and Shirley were gossips together!) for a storyline and it's AWESOME.
